Game of Thrones is a franchise full of horror and death, and lots of character are to blame for all that horror and death.

But author George R. R. Martin has stated on numerous occasions that he wrote the fantasy series to deliberately subvert the genre tropes of “good vs. evil.” All his characters, including most of his protagonists, are not all good nor all bad.
