Listen, the news cycle is bleak and things have been dark for the the LGBTQ community for a long, long time. So forgive the community if we got a little too excited this week when queer icons Cher and Meryl Streep exchanged a smooch at the Mamma Mia premiere.

It was everyone’s awkward celebrity fantasy come true.

I know, I know, Cher and Meryl aren’t technically a “thing.” But that doesn’t mean I can’t go to a beautiful, imaginary place in my head where these two have a romantic queer future.
