It's not often you see koalas swim, so here's one paddling across a river

More famed for their ability to sit in a tree and eat eucalyptus leaves all day, koalas don’t strike as the type to be able to swim that far.

Well, you thought wrong. Take this video uploaded onto Facebook by Jas and Joes Long Road Home, where the marsupial can be seen paddling across the Harriet River on Kangaroo Island, South Australia.

It’s no slowpoke either, despite its typically sedate demeanour, swimming as fast as many of us probably could. For the record, koalas can swim confidently, but can get easily exhausted. Read more…
