Political debates have seeped into everything this year, including Taylor Swift's new app

Politics has successfully seeped into every bit of our consciousness this year. Sure, it’s always impacted our lives, but these days, even playing a particular song or supporting a specific artist can have intense ramifications. That goes for Taylor Swift, too. 

The singer, who released her sixth record, reputation, this year, is as much known for her songwriting skills as for her attempt to remain a political-free brand. It’s not that she doesn’t have her own beliefs, of course, but more that she is silent about them, and a myriad of other relevant issues.
