Not everyone is so hot about this free USB fan handed to journalists at Trump-Kim summit
June 12, 2018While the world’s eyes watch Donald Trump and Kim Jong-Un meet in Singapore, journalists have seemingly been treated rather well while covering the event.
But caution has been advised over one tiny freebie.
Not only have the 3,000 journalists been well-fed during the summit, they’ve also received a goody bag. Inside the bag there’s a bottle of water, a handheld fan featuring Jong-Un’s face, and a Sentosa guidebook. Pretty standard.
However, also enclosed was a blue, innocent-looking mini USB fan, a nod to Singapore’s searing temperatures. Not so hot about it was the information security community. Read more…

Steam is set to finally launch in China, a move that opens up the gaming distribution platform to a massive market of gamers.
Valve will partner up with Chinese developer Perfect World to develop a local version of Steam. But local gamers will have to sit tight for now, as no launch date has been given yet.
Perfect World has previously worked with Valve to release DOTA 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) in China.
The two companies will work close together to actively promote Steam’s launch, marketing, and game lineup in the country, and Valve said no changes are planned to worldwide operations and services as a result of its announcement. Read more…

PlayStation’s E3 showcase was chock full of great reveals and new looks at upcoming games including E3 staples like Death Stranding and newcomers like Nioh 2.
At PlayStation’s anticipated showcase Monday, things started out slowly after a stunning look at The Last of Us Part II, and then sped up a bit after Sony decided to move everyone to a different theater to watch the rest of the presentation. Minus that weird hiccup, the quality of the PlayStation showcase rivaled Sunday’s Xbox showcase.

There’s nothing quite like sword fighting to get the blood pumping. In Ghosts of Tsushima, you’ll be dealing with one hell of a pulse.
The first look at the gameplay for Ghosts of Tsushima was revealed at PlayStation’s E3 showcase, and showed off a whole bunch of intense sword action, some of it in slow motion, in what appears to be feudal Japan. In the short trailer there is a whole lot of stabbing, slicing, dicing, and even a bit of intrigue to keep things interesting.
The action looks so enticing, it’s a shame Ghosts of Tsushima doesn’t have a release date yet. Read more…
