Someone traded a 'Rick and Morty' Szechuan sauce packet for a literal car
October 13, 2017The McDonald’s Rick and Morty Szechuan sauce promotion was, by all accounts, a terrible and embarrassing disaster. But one person came out on top: a woman named Rachel from Macomb, Wisconsin, who traded her sauce packet for a car.
The Drive reports that Rachel, who had the wherewithal to be first in line at her local McDonald’s and actually obtain a packet of Szechuan sauce, originally hoped to exchange her bounty for a few rare pins on Facebook. To be clear, this is an extremely good trade when all you have to give up is one packet of promotional sauce.

If you were a bored child or middle-aged adult in the ’90s looking for a quick consumerist high, there was one show you could count on: Supermarket Sweep.
It’s been a long time since Americans watched people haggle over pork butts (the show went off the air in 2003), but now we have hope. On Thursday, production company Freemantle Media announced that they had acquired global rights to the show with the intent to bring it back. Then they encouraged people to “go wild in the aisles.”
(FYI: If you’re going to win Supermarket Sweep, you shouldn’t go wild in the aisles but instead have a scheduled plan. Consider taking a minute to pour out a $100 coffee or grabbing a few delightful holiday hams). Read more…

DG ISPR should refrain from commenting on economic issues: Ahsan Iqbal
October 13, 2017Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal said on Friday that the army should refrain from speaking on the Pakistan’s economic issues as “irresponsible” statements could affect country’s image globally.
Speaking in Washington, the minister said Pakistan economy was much more stable as compared with the situation in 2013.
“We have seen a rise in imports as the industrial sector is investing in the power sector but it’s nothing to be alarmed about,” he maintained.
“Revenue generation has witnessed a twofold increase because of the improvement in the tax collection system,” he added.
Iqbal said Pakistan’s current development budget was its biggest in the country’s history.
He added that the government had allocated more funds and resources for security.
“We don’t need to seek loans from the IMF,” he retorted to the recent criticism that Pakistan was carrying a “beggar’s bowl” and there were economic concerns because of its “sky-high debt”.
Addressing a seminar on ‘Interplay of Economy and Security’ in Karachi on Wednesday, army chief General Qamar Bajwa had said national security and economy were interlinked, and called for broadening tax base and bringing in financial discipline.
