The future of gaming/military training programs inches ever closer with this week’s litany of VR Battle Royale style games.
No doubt inspired by the massive success of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, these VR games are working to simulate the experience of camping in decrepit buildings, hanging with friends while getting shot at, and sitting in a constant, uneasy tension that is also somehow enjoyable.

The best looking one that we’ve found is Oneiric Entertainment’s Virtual Battleground. Creative Director Sean Pinnock posted about the game on Reddit where he shared some gameplay footage and asked for feedback. It runs a bit janky as it stands, but it’s super early in development and so more of a proof of concept than anything else currently. Read more…
