If there’s anything the beauty industry, the media, basically everywhere constantly fails at, it’s celebrating one’s own natural look. 

The London Evening Standard magazine has done just that this week, with their cover photo of Solange Knowles. In the original picture, Knowles wore an elaborate braid above her head and the publication decided to Photoshop it out.

For an artist who has a song titled “Don’t Touch My Hair,” this obviously upset her.

Halloween is fast approaching and there are only so many shopping days left for you to figure out your costume. 

For those of us who can’t craft worth a damn and for whom the idea of sitting through YouTube makeup tutorials sounds exhausting, Halloween can be stressful. Sure, you don’t want to be the lame one at your Halloween party, but procrastination leaves you scrambling through whatever’s left at Party City on October 30.

Perhaps in an effort to further distance himself from his former occupation, Mario is ditching those blue-collar overalls for some high society frillsSuper Mario Odyssey will let Mario wear Peach’s wedding dress.

On the back of the Wedding Peach amiibo box, you can briefly see an image of Mario in Peach’s gown, and he looks good as hell. It’s at the 6 minute 30 second mark in this unboxing video if you want to see it.

This is a part of an increase in cross-dressing in Nintendo games, what with Link donning women’s clothing in Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There is sort of a precedent of Nintendo playing with gender roles, from Samus’ famous reveal as a female character in the original Metroid, to Birdo, who has an entire section in Wikipedia devoted to the speculation surrounding her gender.  Read more…
