The future belongs to AI-powered devices that will play music and party on their own when we’re not there.
At least that’s the takeaway from a curious/disturbing incident involving a German guy in Hamburg.
While home assistant devices like Alexa need a hotword in order to switch on, the one belonging to Oliver Haberstroh decided to have a rave at 1:50 a.m. Friday night/Saturday morning, while he was away.
“I was perfectly happy with your service and Alexa,” Haberstroh wrote on Amazon’s German Facebook page. “However, since Friday night the relationship between Alexa and me has taken a turn around. You could say ‘it is complicated’ [now] and things have gone so far that we now unfortunately have to go our separate ways.” Read more…

Lebron James gives a cryptic explanation behind his probably petty Instagram posts
November 8, 2017There’s nothing the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Lebron James can’t do that isn’t scrutinized from every single angle—that’s ultimately the price of being the G.O.A.T.
But when James posted the meme of Arthur’s infamous clenched fist this week with the caption “mood” after a long-awaited win on the court, it sparked so much speculation from folks trying to read between the lines of his social media posts that the G.O.A.T had to comment on it.

Elon Musk visited Turkey and met with the country’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, but no one knows exactly why — but the summit could have something to do with Tesla and Turkey’s domestic automotive ambitions.
The meeting comes shortly after five Turkish businesses launched a joint venture to produce a Turkish-made vehicle, according to the Associated Press. The project was reportedly encouraged by Erdogan, and the state has sponsored electric auto projects in the past that aimed to compete with Tesla in the country.

Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda will reprise his iconic role. In 2019, Miranda will return to the award-winning musical in the title role when it opens in San Juan, Puerto Rico, according to Playbill.
Miranda is loud and proud of his Puerto Rican heritage, and of the diverse, color-blind Hamilton cast as it reflects his American upbringing. His last performance as Alexander Hamilton was in July 2016.
“Bringing [Hamilton] to Puerto Rico is a dream that I’ve had since we first opened at The Public Theater in 2015,” Miranda said in a statement through Playbill. “When I last visited the island, a few weeks before Hurricane Maria, I had made a commitment to not only bring the show to Puerto Rico, but also return again to the title role. In the aftermath of Maria we decided to expedite the announcement of the project to send a bold message that Puerto Rico will recover and be back in business, stronger than ever.” Read more…
