Porg babies from 'The Last Jedi' are here and, uh, what are we looking at exactly
November 9, 2017As with all babies, we knew they were coming — but it’s still a shock when they arrived.
Porgs, those beloved `puffin-like creatures in The Last Jedi, will also be seen on screen in a baby version — and as of Wednesday we have our first look at them, above, thanks to a Japanese toy website.
“There’s a brief little moment in The Last Jedi where there’s a porg and then there’s a little baby porg next to the porg,” Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy told Lucasfilm’s in-house Star Wars Show last week. “It doesn’t get better than that.” Read more…

Chris Hemsworth posts touching tribute to the true victim of 'Thor: Ragnarok'
November 9, 2017Spoiler alert: This post contains plot details for Thor: Ragnarok.
There were plenty of casualties in Thor: Ragnarok (sure, a whole planet exploded and Odin disappeared into a cloud of sparkles, but we’re mostly still pissed about the deaths of the Warriors Three), but of all the losses our mighty hero suffered in his latest MCU outing, clearly nothing was more painful than the destruction of his beloved hammer, Mjolnir.
Cate Blanchett’s badass credentials are well-documented, but as Hela — the antlered villainess who spends two hours chewing up every scene she’s in — she lays the smackdown on Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) within 60 seconds of meeting them, smashing Thor’s near-indestructible hammer like a puff pastry and banishing our favorite bantering brothers to a trash planet so that she can conquer Asgard unimpeded. Big changes are headed for Snapchat.
Yesterday, speaking during Snap’s Q3 earnings call, CEO Evan Spiegel teased a major redesign, saying the company was in the midst of “redesigning our application to make it easier to use.”
Now, we know a bit more about what that redesign will look like, thanks to a new report from Business Insider.
According to the publication, which cited unnamed sources familiar with the company’s plans, Snap will streamline its user interface so that content from friends is separated into one section of the app, while public-facing Stories — including those from influencers — will live in a separate, dedicated, section of the app, alongside publisher content. These pop-up bike racks 'disappear' into the pavement when they're not in use
November 9, 2017Bike racks are pretty damn vital to public spaces, but what if we could put them away them until we needed them?
Industrial product designer and Design Academy Eindhoven graduate Milou Berg has created a new pop-up bike rack that “disappears” into the pavement when not in use.

Shown during Dutch Design Week in October, the device has been dubbed “Align,” and is meant to create more room in public spaces for things like markets, concerts, and other events, while still offering a secure spot to stash your bike.
“The public space in city centers is becoming cluttered. Filled with functional objects such as bicycle racks,” Berg told Mashable. Read more…
