Diane Keaton finally spoke up about Woody Allen, and you won't like what she has to say
January 29, 2018Diane Keaton is standing by Woody Allen.
The Annie Hall actress defended the director on Twitter, writing, “Woody Allen is my friend and I continue to believe him.”
The tweet included a video clip of Allen’s 60 Minutes interview from 1992. In it, he dismisses his alleged molestation of Dylan Farrow, his adopted daughter with Mia Farrow, as “a total non-event,” and blames Mia for “coaching” Dylan to speak ill of him.

'The Florida Project' was snubbed for an Oscar because we don't like stories of women in poverty
January 29, 2018And the award for the best social-issue movie of the year goes to … a story about a woman who falls in love with a fish.
An oppressed fish. An impoverished fish. But ya know. A fish.
That’s the message many who care about this shit felt like they heard after the 2018 Oscar nominees were announced on Tuesday. Guillermo’s del Toro’s The Shape of Water, an interspecies romance, earned an impressive 13 nominations, while The Florida Project, a story about a single mother in poverty and her puckish young daughter, garnered just one. It was a Best Supporting Actor nom for Willem Dafoe, an already well recognized dude. Read more…

This startup wants everyone to love their bank as much as they love their phone
January 29, 2018It’s pretty easy to tell what phone someone has when you’re with them, but what about their bank?
Well, most people probably wouldn’t bother asking a stranger or even a close friend what bank they use. Angelo D’Alessandro hopes to change that with his startup Buddybank.

January 29, 2018A science guy is heading to Capitol Hill to watch an anti-science president address the nation on Tuesday.
Bill Nye the “Science Guy” is going to watch President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address in person, and of course, not everyone is happy about it.
More than 28,000 signatures have been added to a petition asking that Nye refuse to attend the State of the Union.
“Bill, please be the Science Guy, not the Bigoted Climate Denial Guy,” the petition reads.
Part of what’s fueling the uproar around Nye attending the speech is the fact that he was invited to the address by Congressman Jim Bridenstine, Republican of Oklahoma, Trump’s contentious pick to lead NASA. Read more…

Trump's science advisor is Fox News, and that's why his policies can quickly be undone
January 29, 2018By now, the world knows where President Donald Trump stands on the issue of global warming: He’s a climate denier who has appointed the most staunchly anti-environment cabinet in modern American political history.
If fully enacted, his administration’s policies would accelerate global warming, raising sea levels worldwide and wreaking havoc with extreme weather events, likely causing billions in damage to the U.S. alone.
Trump is the only climate denier at the helm of a G-20 nation (though Vladimir Putin has flirted with climate denial in the past). He makes the U.S. scientific establishment so furious that some researchers are ditching academia in favor of the campaign trail to oppose his policies from inside the government. Read more…
