Hey, Instagram haters: Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the company has no plans to change its algorithm-based photo feed, despite what you may have heard.
Rumors began swirling late last week that the photo-sharing app had miraculously decided to reverse the two-year-old decision to implement an algorithmic feed. Naturally, bloggers and Instagram influencers promptly lost their collective shit.
Unfortunately for them, though, the “rumor” is just another example of how quickly social platforms can amplify misinformation. Instagram has outright denied it. Read more…

If you were forced to hear something every time you opened your car door, you could do worse than Toto’s “Africa” — a pleasant tune that would surely leave you in a good mood for your ride.
Self-described Volvo enthusiast Chris Ng wanted to customize the door chimes on his old Volvo 240. Now, every time he opens his car door and his keys are still in the ignition, an 8-bit version of Toto’s “Africa” plays instead of those annoying bells.
On his Kickstarter page, Ng notes that it took him two days to put the pieces together. He hopes to create a prototype which can be easily installed on other vehicles, so you too can hear some sweet jams instead of an aggravating chime when you open your car door. Read more…

First lady Melania Trump is sticking to her campaign promise to crack down on online harassment and cyberbullying. She’s reportedly meeting with major players in social media and tech next week to see what can be done.
Even though she’s repeatedly let her husband get away with the very behavior she described during Donald Trump’s campaign as “too mean and too rough,” she is apparently still determined to make the internet a safer place. She’ll meet with Amazon, Facebook, Google, Twitter, and Snap, according to the Washington Post.

As the joke goes, Sean Bean is really good at dying. But he’s never died better than in his performance as Ned Stark. (Let’s just say heads literally rolled.)
But a question has plagued the Game of Thrones fandom ever since that fateful scene in Season 1, Episode 9. What was Ned muttering under his breath right as the sword came down? The theories were plentiful for those who wanted to cling to their final moment with the Stark patriarch.
Some believed he whispered the show’s mantra: “valar morghulis,” a silent acceptance that all men must die. Or, before Jon’s parentage was confirmed in the latest season, some even believed Ned was, for some reason, quietly revealing the biggest secret of the series to no one in particular. Perhaps most devastatingly (and convincingly), many theorized he was assuring his beloved dead sister Lyanna that he’d kept his promise to not reveal Jon’s true Targaryen lineage. Read more…

Trump wants to create a military branch called 'Space Force' and the internet lost it
March 13, 2018Apparently the U.S. military isn’t big enough, and it needs to expand into space.
During a speech at a Marine Corps Air Station in San Diego on Tuesday, President Trump said that the United States needs a “Space Force,” because we obviously need to protect ourselves from the threats of the galaxy.
