One Harvey Weinstein accuser says she won't celebrate his arrest in a must-read thread
May 27, 2018In the days following Harvey Weinstein’s arrest, some within the entertainment industry have posted a statement released by Time’s Up — the organization created in the wake of the scandal.
Others, like actress Annabella Sciorra, have taken things a step further. Sciorra was one of the women to come forward in Ronan Farrow’s follow up stories featured in The New Yorker. On Sunday, she shared that she felt the farthest thing from celebratory when she heard the initial news about his arrest.
“The law finally caught up with Harvey Weinstein on Friday and charge him with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault,” she tweeted. “But nothing about that felt celebratory to me.” Read more…

NASA shares the story of how a SpaceX launch completely melted this poor camera
May 27, 2018On May 22, a SpaceX rocket launch left one poor, seemingly high-end camera horribly disfigured and forever ruined. Now, NASA has shared the specifics of what happened.
Bill Ingalls, the space and aeronautics agency’s photographer, is the one who was tasked that day with capturing the launch. But even his 30 years of experience couldn’t have stopped this from happening on that fateful day.
That’s the view from Ingalls dearly departed camera, which appears to be (as you can see in the photo up top) some model of high-end Canon DSLR. Read more…

Someone live tweeted the world record for tallest stack of waffles — and it was a dramatic affair
May 27, 2018During Memorial Day Weekend, many people gathered in backyards to kick off cookout season across the country — but in Denver, some visited an unassuming backyard to witness an attempt to shatter the world record for tallest stack of waffles, which was previously at 51 cm.
Journalist Elizabeth Hernandez was on the scene to cover the event for The Denver Post and thankfully, she live tweeted the action for all of us as it was going down on Saturday.
“You know when you get a press release to cover a Guinness world record attempt for tallest stack of waffles & expect it to be some big commercial thing & then it’s just a guy’s house?,” Hernandez tweeted. “This is SO MUCH BETTER.” Read more…

678-136-7092Avengers: Infinity War shared Captain America’s phone number with the world.
It didn’t actually work, much to the chagrin of fans everywhere. But as we’ve now learned, it was originally supposed to work. The film’s creators wanted fans to be able to pick up on the brief Easter egg and use it to actually receive a message from Steve Rogers.

It never happened, obviously, but sibling directors Anthony and Joe Russo shared their idea and the reason it never panned out during a recent interview with Huffington Post.
“We actually had intended to create a fake voicemail from Steve Rogers,” Joe Russo said. “For the people that left the theater and called that number, they would get a voicemail from Steve Rogers.” Read more…
