LAHORE: Soon after media reports claiming Maryam Nawaz burying the hatchet with the Khosa family, the daughter of the deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif took to Twitter, dubbing such reports “misleading”.
While terming the news “unfounded”, Maryam at the same time made a request to media houses to verify before airing reports.
“Who is feeding such misleading news to media & why? Would request media houses to verify before airing unfounded news,” the former first daughter tweeted.
Both the Sharif and Khosa family have denied the “rumours”.
A close aide of the Sharif family has confirmed that no attempts were made from Maryam or her side to even initiate a dialogue.
However, the Khosa family’s insider reveled that Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique recently asked Sardar Zulfiqar if he was interested in meeting the PML-N leadership.
Last week, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) disgruntled senator, Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa, announced that he had accepted Asif Ali Zardari’s invitation to join the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
