Black Mirror may have revitalized the anthology format on TV, but Netflix’s hit sci-fi series wouldn’t exist without the anxiety-inducing work of Philip K. Dick, whose dystopian yarns have inspired generations of genre writers and seem to take on new relevance with each passing day.
So it’s kind of a no-brainer that Amazon would turn to the master to inspire their own sci-fi anthology show, Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, which dropped its first US trailer Friday at New York Comic Con.
Among the executive producers on the series are Dick’s daughter, Isa Dick Hackett; Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston; and Outlander’s Ron Moore, with Moore writing one episode and Cranston starring in another. Eagle-eyed viewers can also expect to spot Game of Thrones‘ Richard Madden and Liam Cunningham, Benedict Wong, Jack Reynor, Steve Buscemi, Vera Farmiga, Janelle Monáe, Greg Kinnear, and Maura Tierney, among others.
