Jess Cliffe, one of two creators of the iconic first-person shooter game Counter-Strike, was arrested and booked for sexual exploitation of a child in Seattle Thursday morning, local station KINO 7 reported Thursday. Cliffe has not been charged with a crime and is expected to have a bail hearing Friday afternoon.

In a statement provided to Mashable, video game developer Valve said that Cliffe has been suspended until more details come out. 

“We are still learning details of what actually happened,” a Valve spokesperson said. “Reports suggest he has been arrested for a felony offense. As such we have suspended his employment until we know more.” Read more…

Move aside Romeo and Juliet. The award for most tragic love story now belongs to Nigel the bird and his concrete beloved.

Per The Guardian, the story begins in 2013 when Nigel, a gannet, showed up on Mana Island, an uninhabited piece of land off the coast of New Zealand. Initially, conservationists had placed fake concrete gannets on the island in order to attract some real birds. 

Soon after he moved to the island, conservationists realized that Nigel was alone—and that he was insistent on romancing one of the concrete birds.  Read more…

“Y’all should do a Friends reunion,” Ellen DeGeneres told Jennifer Aniston in the latest episode of Ellen. “I know people keep asking that.”

They do, but Ellen is allowed. 

“Is it even in the realm of possibility?” she asked.

“Anything is a possibility,” Aniston replied diplomatically. “I mean, George Clooney got married.”

The subject of a Friends reunion has been bandied about since the show ended in 2004, but just getting the six core cast members back in the same room has proved to be a challenge. In 2016, five of them reunited for an NBC tribute to TV director James Burrows.  Read more…
