Woody Allen’s actors may be starting to abandon him, but Woody Allen’s distributor won’t get off so easily.
Not only is Amazon Studios already on the hook to release Allen’s A Rainy Day in New York, it’s just the second in a five-picture deal struck in 2016 by Roy Price, the studio head who was pushed out after his own wave of sexual harassment allegations.
In other words, Amazon is now in the unenviable spot of either sticking with Allen, at a time when critics and stars are publicly distancing themselves from him – or paying him a whole bunch of money to sever that contract. Read more…

Atari's founder won't receive a major industry award as #TimesUp turns to video games
January 31, 2018#TimesUp for video games. Finally.
Atari founder Nolan Bushnell will no longer receive the prestigious Pioneer Award at the annual Game Developers Choice Awards in March. He had previously been announced as the recipient for 2018, but backlash from the community stemming largely from Bushnell’s past comments and behavior compelled the change.
A Wednesday morning announcement from the show’s advisory committee, the group that votes on the special award winners each year, confirmed the change. The statement never mentions Bushnell by name; it merely confirms there will be no Pioneer Award for 2018. Read more…
