Oh, Elon. The Tesla Roadster is a car to covet, but does Mars really need one?

The long-delayed launch of SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy is slated to finally happen in January. Like all rockets leaving Earth, there’s a chance this one will explode, and Musk has even said as much.

The Falcon Heavy will allow large payloads to be sent to the Moon, Mars, and other parts of deep space. At the moment, SpaceX flies Falcon 9 rockets, which are smaller and can’t bring cargo quite as far as they hope the Falcon Heavy will. That’s where Tesla fits into this picture.

According to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, a Tesla Roadster will make the first trip to Mars, with its stereo cranked to 11, playing David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” on loop. Read more…

You can now officially visit the most badass street of all: Rihanna Drive.

The Barbados street celebrated its new moniker on Thursday. Yes, Rihanna herself was in attendance and, because she has never half-assed a single thing in her life, she delivered a speech and contributed her own statement for a commemorative plaque.

The event was a personal one for Rih, who is the Cultural Ambassador for Barbados and a native of the island. The street, which was formerly known as Westbury New Road, is the one on which she grew up. Read more…

Olaf’s Frozen Adventure has been put on ice.

Disney has directed theaters running Coco, Pixar’s latest, to remove the deeply unpopular 22-minute Frozen short that plays in front of each screening. The removal goes into effect on Dec. 8, sources familiar with the matter confirmed to Mashable.

The request from Disney also asks that theaters use the newly freed-up time to hold extra screenings of Coco each day.
