Seven years ago, a woman named Sarah Kauss set out to design a vessel that would make plastic water bottles obsolete. A lofty goal? Um, yeah: Around the same time, the average American was using 167 disposable bottles annually (and recycling only 38 of them).
Still, Kauss was determined: ”I believed that if we made a crave-worthy bottle that combined fashion with function, people would stop buying disposable bottles, and we could reduce single-use plastic consumption worldwide,” she writes. With that mission in mind, S’well was born. Read more…
