Amazon is currently choosing a location to base its second headquarters in, and as biz-hungry cities across North America hope and pray to be the the chosen one a city in Georgia has proven particularly thirsty.
Stonecrest, Georgia wants that HQ (along with the promised 50,000 “high-paying jobs”) so badly that it’s prepared to rename a part of its city “Amazon, Georgia” if chosen, according to The Atlanta Journal Constitution.
Totally normal thing to do, Stonecrest. Not obsessive at all. Really.
The local news publication reported that on Monday its city council voted 4-2 in favor of de-annexing 345 acres of land in Stonecrest to form the city of Amazon. Read more…
