The 'this is fine' meme was already dead, but a GOP senator just bought it a new tombstone

Prominent Republicans are always waltzing around, killing memes just by using them. We cannot, however, induct GOP senator Richard Burr into the murderers’ club, because the meme he used was already dead.

During a hearing on Wednesday, the Senate Intelligence Committee chairman referred to the popular “this is fine” meme while discussing the Russian attack on the 2016 election. 

“Some feel that we as a society are sitting in a burning room, calmly drinking a cup of coffee, telling ourselves ‘this is fine,’” Burr said. “That’s not fine. And that’s not the case.”
