Samsung Galaxy S10 leak reveals 3D face-detection technology in works

Samsung is throwing down the gauntlet with its next flagship smartphone.

In a report from Korean publication The Bell, leaked details of the phone show that the Android phone manufacturer wants to adopt key features from Apple in its upcoming flagship.

Samsung is reportedly running around the clock to perfect 3D face-scanning technology — set to replace the existing iris scanner technology — in time for the Samsung Galaxy S10 launch expected next year. If certain production benchmarks are not met, however, the new phone is expected to continue using an iris scanner, as older model phones have. Read more…
