'She's Gotta Have It' actress to co-star in 'Captain Marvel' alongside Brie Larson

It’s a good day to be the gorgeously talented breakout star of Spike Lee’s She’s Gotta Have It, DeWanda Wise. Aside from the news that the Netflix show is getting a second season, she’s also joining the star-studded cast of Captain Marvel in a role opposite Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson.

Deadline broke the news in an exclusive, but details on her role or plot details for the upcoming superhero flick are scarce. With Anna Boden-Ryan Fleck at the helm as director and A-List movie stars like Samuel L. Jackson and Jude Law in the cast, she’ll certainly be in good company.
