SNES-themed 3DS XL isn't the Classic you're looking for, but it's easier to buy

How is Nintendo so good at making us covet things that we already own in a slightly different form?

That’s almost certainly the question on many a fan’s mind this morning as word of a Super NES-themed New 3DS XL surfaces. The handheld has been out for almost three years now, and it’s since been one-upped by the smaller, more streamlined New 2DS XL.

None of that matters, though. Not when you can get a New 3DS XL painted to look like a Super Nintendo. 

Who cares if the difference is purely cosmetic? What’s the big deal if every single portable Nintendo machine that’s not called “Switch” is increasingly old news? I repeat: This thing looks like a Super Nintendo, people. Read more…
