The Simpsons got real at the end of its Season 29 premiere on Sunday evening.
After more than a week of politically charged chatter around the devastation in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria, The Simpsons cut through the bullshit to say something meaningful. Everyone, stop bickering and help these suffering people.
The episode concluded with a still image of the Springfield community, with Homer, Marge, Bart, Nelson Muntz, and Marge’s sisters, Selma and Patty, holding up the Puerto Rican flag. Marge also holds a sign that reads “Unido” (Spanish for “united”) while Lisa stands in the foreground, a tear in her eye. Read more…
