Starting on Monday, Aug. 6, two new Street Fighters are joining the latest game’s roster: The classic muay thai brawler and M. Bison crony Sagat, and a mysterious newcomer called “G,” aka the president of the world.

A character profile video describes G thusly: “G is a mysterious new character who wishes to unify the world as its president. He decides to spread his message in the ways the modern world can understand: Through social media.”

G is a tall, buff, and heavily bearded man whose default costume — consisting of a formal black, sleeveless suit and a comically tall top hat — is clearly meant to evoke the 16th U.S. president, Abraham Lincoln.  Read more…
