Disney just released details about ESPN Plus, its new $4.99 streaming video service

The 2018 Super Bowl has finally passed, but sports fans may still have something to look forward to later this year.

On an earnings call Tuesday, Disney CEO Bob Iger provided more details about ESPN’s upcoming streaming video service, ESPN Plus. Disney first announced the service back in August 2017, but few specifics about the platform have emerged since.

According to TechCrunch, ESPN Plus will become available this spring, for $4.99 per month. It will be accessed within ESPN’s existing free app.

Unfortunately, paying for the streaming service won’t give users access to what ESPN is broadcasting on its TV channels — you’ll still need a cable subscription and log-in for that. So what exactly will your ESPN Plus subscription get you? That’s where things get a bit murky. Read more…
