PTI fighting corrupt mafia, swears Imran

October 8, 2017

BUNER: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that he is fighting to rid the country of corrupt mafia.

“Nawaz Sharif has not only destroyed institutions but people’s morals too as he had the parliament make legislation through which a disqualified person can again lead his party,” Khan told a public gathering at Suwari in Buner district on Sunday.

Until recently, a disqualified prime minister (in this case Sharif) could not hold the position of the president of his party, but by the passage of Electoral Reforms Bill 2017 in parliament, Sharif was able to reverse the tables.

The Supreme Court had disqualified Sharif as the prime minister in the Panamagate case on July 28.

“Nations are never destroyed by bombs, but by degrading moral values,” said the PTI chief, urging the country to fight such injustice.

Calling Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi a puppet, Khan said Abbasi still calls Sharif his prime minister.

Turning his guns towards Pakistan Peoples Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Khan said, “Zardari and Sharif are the biggest looters and Fazl always finds space between those two to fit in.”

“Corrupt politicians have been continuously targeting the armed forces and the Supreme Court in order to hide their corruption, but PTI will always resist such motives and protect the institutions,” he said, adding that “we will take to the streets again if need be.”

Khan said the changes brought about in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) will be extended to every part of the country, adding that “once a true leadership is established no power on earth can stop our nation from developing”.

Addressing the event, K-P Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said, “Imran Khan is the country’s future.”

PTI has brought visible changes in K-P, he added.

Khattak congratulated Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) sitting MNA Sher Akbar Khan for joining the PTI and termed PTI’s people-friendly policies the reason behind former JI member’s decision to join the party.

Imran slams Nawaz’s ‘save corruption rally’

“The corrupt and the powerful are facing accountability,” he informed, adding that after witnessing what PTI does for the general public, politicians of other parties are joining PTI.

He said PTI was the only party which raised its voice against political injustice, adding that politically educated people had made the environment uneasy for corrupt politicians.

Former JI MNA Sher Akbar Khan was elected from NA-28 on JI ticket during the 2013 general elections. He also got elected as member of National Assembly in 2002 and 2008 on party tickets issued by the then PPP-Sherpao group.

Later, the PTI chief inaugurated the Buner University campus also.
