October 8, 2017

LAHORE: The restoration, improvement, and modernisation work in every department of the railways is currently under way, said Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique.

Addressing a meeting at the headquarters on Saturday, he said that besides beautification and rebuilding of the railway stations, administrative matters were also being rectified by restructuring the human resource section.

He said that restoration work on Sibi-Harnai railway track was in progress, adding that the track with eight railway stations was laid in 1884 and 133-km of the track was being reconstructed.

“Restoration of peace in the country will play a vital role in development of the infrastructure,” said Rafique. He said that Rawalpindi-Kohat railcar was also being re-launched and development work on the track and railway station was under way.
