The man failed to produce his service ID, however, an unlicensed 9mm pistol with five rounds, drugs and fake property documents were seized from his possession.

“He, while exposing himself as a major, used to cheat the families of the arrested people promising them he will help them in the release of their loved ones,” a spokesperson for the paramilitary force said.

“This gang has been involved in land grabbing and also used to provide their services in helping people get their lands back from squatters,” he added.
